Great turnout for our NJHS Back to School event!
Girls softball was in action today vs. Kewanee. The Lady Panthers won the second game of the doubleheader.
Congratulations to the varsity girls cross country team on getting 2nd at the Washington Central invite today. There were many strong individual performances as well. Placing in the top 10 for varsity were Jayne Hermann and Jenna Spiezio. Owen Spiezio placed 2nd in the boys varsity. Finley Smith placed in the top 10 in the girls open. Great job Panthers!
Congratulations to the baseball team on winning the city tournament this weekend! Way to go Panthers!
New teacher orientation! Welcome to D52!
Due to inclement weather, the Varsity Baseball and Softball games at Morton, and the JV baseball game at WMS have been cancelled for today.
Just a reminder that for any student that is interested in entering the IESA Golf Tournament under the WMS name, here is the information you will need.
1. D52 does not provide coaching for golf. Individuals will need to seek out their own instruction.
2. There are no competitions scheduled other than the Golf Sectional, and State (if an individual qualifies).
a. Sectional – September 8
b. State (if qualifying out of Sectional) – September 16
3. There is a $40 fee per golfer that covers the IESA Golf entry fee. Parents are responsible for paying each registered student's $40 entry fee, along with the green fee for Sectionals (separate from the $40 entry fee). IESA pays the greens fee at the state finals for students advancing from sectionals.
4. Parents will need to provided transportation to the golf sectional and state (if applicable).
5. D52 does not provided transportation for the golf Sectional.
6. Students will need to have a parent/coach with them at the golf sectional. The individual attending the golf sectional with the student will need to have their coaching certification, along with concussion certification through IESA.
7. The deadline to notify Washington Middle School of your intent to participate in the IESA golf Sectional is this Monday, August 16th. The $40 entry fee must be paid at this time as well. Please make checks payable to District 52.
8. Please email Jon Goettler at d52jgoet@d52schools.com to notify him of your child’s interest in participating in the golf sectional, or if you have additional questions.

District 52 is working with District 50 and OSF to provide an opportunity for incoming 6th-8th graders. There will be a sports physical clinic at District 50 on Tuesday August 3rd. The cost
of the clinic is $35. Cash/check/credit card payments are accepted, OSF will not be billing insurance. Students that have been diagnosed with Covid in the past 6 months will need to go to their primary care provider for their sports physical and are not be eligible for this clinic. This is a reminder that D52 Registration will close at midnight on Monday, August 2nd. Please take the time to register your child(ren) as soon as possible. Student names will not be reflected on class lists until they are fully registered.
The Athletic Schedules have been posted on the D52 Website. Click on Explore, then Events in the drop down menu. Click on Select Filters and you can choose a sport.

Good Morning! Just a reminder that athletes will need to have an up to date physical on file with the WMS office prior to trying out for softball, or baseball. Softball Tryouts are July 26th and 27th from 9-11 am. Baseball tryouts are August 2nd and 3rd, with 6th and 7th grade going from 10:00 – 12:00 and 8th grade going from 12:00 – 2:00.
