
Washington Grade School District 52 is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy for the Board of Education. Jessica Heintz has resigned from the D52 Board as a result of a family move out of our district. We would like to thank Mrs. Heintz for her dedication in serving our students, staff, and community!
The new individual selected and appointed by the Board will serve the remainder of the unexpired term which ends in April of 2023. Interested individuals are asked to send a letter of interest to Cathe Kellenberger, d52ckell@d52schools.com, Superintendent’s Administrative Assistant by Tuesday, April 26th. Letters can also be submitted in-person at the district office, 303 Jackson St. Washington IL, 61571. Interviews for the vacancy will be conducted by the Board of Education on Monday, May 2nd.

Great turnout tonight for the first annual Boys City Volleyball Tournament. The boys teams did a great job!




The regularly scheduled D52 Board of Education meeting on April 11th has been moved to a start time of 6:00 p.m.

Let's Celebrate March Madness with a Special Lunch Event @ WMS Wednesday March 30th. Students must eat hot lunch for a chance to win a prize.

Reminders: There will be a music boosters raffle at the carnival! Feel free to print at home or stop at the table on April 2nd! Also, we are excited to welcome Jordan Sonnenblick to WMS on April 25th! Students are able to order a signed copy of a book! Orders are due Wednesday!

WGSD #52 welcomes Mr. Scott Lawson as the new WMS Assistant Principal/Athletic Director starting in the 2022-23 school year! Scott’s educational background includes an associate’s degree from Illinois Central College, a bachelor's degree from Trinity International University, and a master's degree from Western Illinois University. Over the last 3 years, Scott has served as an assistant principal at Dunlap Valley Middle School and prior to that, he spent 8 years teaching in District 51. Scott and his wife Stephanie along with 2 children call Washington home. We are excited to have Scott join the D52 Panther family!

Good Afternoon, Aramark is offering an opportunity for students and parents of the Washington School District #52 to let their voices be heard regarding school lunch. **Please 1st-4th Parents be looking for an email to access the link.** Students in grades 1st-4th, will need parents' help taking the survey. Students in grades 5th – 8th , can take the survey themselves on a tab on their Chromebook.
